In today’s society, homeowners are looking for alternatives to their flooring. Las Vegas homeowners want something more versatile and durable than hardwood, but something more modern than laminate. At Cabinets Now of Las Vegas, we have the solution to those desires in SPC waterproof flooring.
SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite. One of the biggest benefits of choosing SPC vinyl flooring is that it has a completely waterproof core. Unlike hardwood, it can be installed in areas of the home such as laundry rooms, bathrooms, basements, and kitchens. Like all flooring, it is best to keep in mind that even though this flooring in particular is waterproof, it is NOT indestructible or flood proof.
At Cabinets Now Las Vegas, we are here to help you with your choices in flooring for your home. Vinyl planks are great for heavily active families. Their easy DIY installation makes them the perfect choice, as well as their reasonable price tag. SPC- Waterproof allows for seamless transitions between rooms. They are best suited for kitchens and bathrooms because they are durable, water resistant and will last against most wear and tear. Waterproof vinyl planks have several options and possibilities, and thanks to new technology, the offer to designers continues to expand.
SPC-Waterproof vinyl planks are considered a luxury vinyl. It has a rigid core that is comprised of a more solid (or rigid) core for added durability. This type of vinyl uses
glue-less format with a click locking installation system. SPC features a core that is comprised of about 60% limestone, polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers. This means it has more of a stone composition whereas its sister waterproof vinyl, WPC, is more of a wood composition.
With today’s digital printing technologies, SPC Waterproof tile and planks can resemble wood, stone; ceramic, marble and unique finishes are easy to produce both visually and texturally. Recent advancements have been made in regards to formatting options. SPC flooring can be made in a variety of formats including wider or longer planks and wider tiles.
To add to durability and stability, this type of vinyl plank flooring is comprised of multiple layers of backing that are fused together. Unlike dry back flooring, this features a rigid core and is a harder product. SPC is mostly comprised of a limestone core layer; although thinner overall, it has a higher density in comparison to WPC-Waterproof flooring. This makes it much more durable. The high density offers better resistance from scratches or dents from heavy items or furniture being placed on top of it, and makes it less susceptible to expansion in the case of an extreme temperature change.
SPC flooring is marketed as being waterproof. However, this flooring is actually water resistant. No product is entirely waterproof if submerged underwater, topical spills or moisture should not be an issue if properly cleaned in a reasonable amount of time.
Cabinets Now Las Vegas are well rounded with knowledge of SPC flooring. This type of flooring was originally created for commercial markets due to its durability. However, homeowners in Las Vegas have started using it as well due to its ease of installation, design options and durability. Please don’t hesitate to ask one of our knowledgeable staff about the variations between commercial and light commercial use so you are aware of what warranties may apply to you. Thanks to an easy-to-install click locking system, this product is DIY friendly. Installing over a flat smooth surface is ideal; however, this product does not require extensive subfloor prep prior to installation. Floor imperfections like cracks or divots are more easily hidden with SPC-Waterproof flooring due to the rigid core composition.
SPC is typically more affordable than WPC. Both types are comparable when it comes to installation costs as you can install this yourself.
